Program

Dance on Camera is thrilled to partner with Emerging Artist Resources (EAR) to create a new pathway into one of the world’s longest-running dance film festivals.

As part of the 55th annual Dance on Camera Festival, EAR and Dance on Camera are launching a new Emerging Artist Program designed to discover, celebrate, and showcase the next generation of dance filmmakers.

This new program extends the spirit of Dance on Camera to emerging artists, creating dedicated space for new voices, ideas, and approaches to dance on screen.

We want to see what you’re exploring. Movement, storytelling, image, sound, abstraction, experimentation—and everything in between. Whether you’ve been making dance films for a few years or this is your very first collaboration between dance and film, we’re interested in the ideas you’re testing, the worlds you’re building, and the ways you’re making the form your own.

The Emerging Artist Program is dedicated to

discovering and showcasing new voices in dance films.

Selected artists will have the opportunity to:

  • Have their film screened as part of the 55th Dance on Camera Festival
  • Share their work with a new audience through an internationally recognized festival
  • Connect with filmmakers, artists, and curators
  • Participate in designated festival workshops
  • Receive discounted access to additional Dance on Camera programming
  • Take part in networking opportunities and become part of the broader dance film community

Most importantly, we want emerging artists to be part of where dance film goes next.

The Emerging Artist Program is for artists who:

  • Identify as being in the emerging stages of their artistic career
  • Are exploring dance film or a dance/film collaboration
  • Are within the first five years of their dance filmmaking practice
  • Are interested in developing their work and connecting with the broader dance film community

You don't need a long résumé or years of professional dance film experience. If you have a story to tell, movement to explore, or an idea you’re ready to bring to the screen, we want to see what you’re creating.

Submission Fee: $10

EAR members receive an additional submission discount. If you have an EAR account, find your discount code in your email or through your EAR member portal.
